Welcome to the GWMTA website

Please have a look around, enjoy your stay and remember to spread the word about us. Thank you.

The concept of building a Memorial dedicated to those who gave their lives and all those who fought in Operation Granby, the liberation of Kuwait, was brought about by the vision of two veterans, determined not to let the war be forgotten. From their hard work and determination the project is now well and truly becoming a reality, gaining support and momentum. Of course we need help to complete this vision, all funds raised go directly to the Memorial, no one is paid for their time, we give it voluntarily.

The National Memorial Arboretum

The NMA is a beautiful, purpose built location where the Nation can visit to pay their respects to all who have fallen in the service of their Country, here is where our memorial will be located, giving Family, friends & colleagues a place to remember, to reflect and feel closer to their loved ones no longer with us.

Our Patron

John NicholFlight Lieutenant John Nichol RAF (Ret’d)

“I am proud and honoured to be associated with the group of veterans planning to erect a memorial to our comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1990-1991 Gulf War.

As time marches on, some might forget the sacrifice of our friends and colleagues during Operation Granby but those of us who made it through and the friends and families of the fallen will not – We will remember them.”
